Maternity FAQ

what's the best time to do maternity photos?


If possible, I recommend doing maternity photos between 28-36 weeks. That allows the belly to be a nice round shape which is ideal for portraits. If you're beyond that timeframe, though, don't worry, I will do my best to get you scheduled quickly.

what if the weather is bad?



If it looks like rain is in the forecast we'll talk about rescheduling to another date, finding a studio space, or in-home session options.

what will be the location for our photo shoot?


Maternity sessions are gorgeous outdoors or in studio, depending on the vibe and setting you prefer. Whether it's at your home, a scenic outdoor location, or a studio for classic portraiture, I'll help you find the perfect location for your session.

FAQ

How long does a typical photo session last?


My maternity portrait sessions take about an hour but I leave lots of extra time to keep things relaxed and allow for rest or bathroom breaks as needed. In-home newborn sessions typically range from 1.5 to 2 hours and are relaxed, baby-led experiences. I strive to provide ample time to capture all the important moments and ensure you feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the session.

How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?


I know you're excited to see your final photos! I'll send a sneak peek within a few days. My editing process typically takes 1-2 weeks, depending on the volume of images and the complexity of skin retouching required. I prioritize quality and attention to detail to deliver exceptional images that exceed your expectations.

HOW SHOULD WE PREPARE?


Don't worry at all! I will send you a detailed prep and style guide to help you select outfits that feel authentic to you and help you look your best on camera. You can send me mirror selfie phone images for personalized feedback on which outfits will work best.
